Our Momentum Project is underway! On Monday, July 27 the carpet, sound-booth, and trim were removed then on Tuesday, July 28 the main stage was the focus. Walls came down, the ceiling was removed and the coatroom was integrated into the sanctuary. Our General Contractor, Brent Smith, was moving very quickly through the tasks of the day…as a matter of fact he was moving so quickly I had a hard time getting photos of everything that was happening. The sound-booth was gone and the bathrooms in the rear of the sanctuary were gutted before I had a chance to photograph the process. The slide show above will show you some of the progress. Please continue to pray for every aspect of this project. There are many moving parts and we want communication to be very clear. Thank you for your prayers and support through this process!
GFC is in contract with a company to buy a portion of our property. The contract was signed on Friday, February 20th. The company has 180 days to evaluate the property and determine if they want to go through with the sale. During this time I am asking you to pray with the Elders and Board of GFC that God’s will be done. This has been a long process to get to this point; the leadership has been praying and talking about this sale since December 2014 and now we move forward with the blessings of the Lord.
Brent Smith, our youth leader, has been helping us with some projects over the past few months. In the next 7-10 days he will be replacing the carpet in the former cafe so we can move our nursery into that room. We have 10-12 babies in our nursery each week with the potential of 17 babies if they all attend on the same Sunday. This will improve our ability to care for them and give them the space they need to enjoy their time in the nursery.
These small projects are in preparation of the bigger task of the main remodel. Thank you for your support in prayer and finances through this season.
Momentum means Building at GFC! We had an incredible time of looking ahead on Sunday night, February 8th. Here is a brief run down of the evening:
1. Brent Smith and Alexa Taylor shared about the amazing ministries we have at GFC. Through our growing nursery, youth ministry and the Hope Chest we are definitely Reaching Out, Touching Hearts, and Changing Lives.
2. Pastor Phil shared about the renovations of the sanctuary; highlighting each phase, what they entail, and when we will start. After sharing on the Momentum Project he then opened the time up for Q and A. The enthusiasm from those present was overwhelming. Sunday set the stage for 2015 and beyond.
The evening was recorded and will be added to our media section in a few days. Our prayer points from the night were: 1. Pray for our leadership through this process; 2. Pray for continued favor with finances; 3. Pray for wisdom in our land deal that is currently in negotiations.
